The Society of the Reykjavik Academy is an academic institute by the sea and site for independently working scholars. Membership fee is 2600 ISK per year.

The membership fee entitles the member to:

- Subscription to the Forum-mailing list, the academy's main communication channel.

- Contact details and other information listed in the member catalogue

- Academia.is email account for a fixed biannual fee

- The opportunity to rent an office for a reasonable price

- The opportunity to rent the commons room at the Reykjavik Academy for a reasonable price

- Free or reduced prices in courses taken through the Reykjavik Academy

- Reductions on books published or supported by Reykjavik Academy

- Right to vote in the annual meeting.
