Phd listfræðingur og sjálfstætt starfandi fræðimaður

Halldóra Arnardóttir er PhD listfræðingur frá Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. Sjálfstætt starfandi fræðimaður á Íslandi og á Spáni, auk þess að vera gestakennari og fyrirlesari víða í heim. Halldóra er meðstjórnandi SARQ arkitekta og stýrir verkefninu Listir og menning sem meðferð í samstarfi við Virgen de la Arrixaca sjúkrahúsið í Murcia og Landspítala Íslands. Meðal helstu verka eru: Sögur húsanna (2001-2008), Manfreð Vilhjálmsson arkitekt (2009), Kristín Guðmundsdóttir híbýlafræðingur (2015) og Listir og menning sem meðferð, íslensk söfn og alzheimer (2017). Ábyrgðaraðili í evrópsku samstarfsverkefnunum Social Inclusion and Well-being through the Arts and Interdisciplinary Practices (SWAIP) (2018-2020) og Inclusive memory. Inclusive Museums for well-being and health through the creation of a new shared memory. (2021-2024).

Erindi Halldóru fjallar um hvernig listir og menning efla huga þeirra sem þjást af alzheimers og auka lífsgæði þeirra. Smiðjan Tilfinningar tjáðar án orða með vídeólistamanninum Bill Viola er útskýrð í þessu samhengi.

PhD art historian and an independent scholar

Halldóra Arnardóttir is a PhD art historian from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. An independent scholar in Iceland and Spain, as well as a visiting professor and lecturer around the world. Halldóra co-directs SARQ architects and leads the project Art and Culture as Therapy in collaboration with Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia and Iceland National Hospital. Among main works: Stories of Houses (2001-2008), Manfreð Vilhjálmsson architect (2009), Kristín Guðmundsdóttir Interior designer (2015) og Art and Culture as Therapy, Icelandic Museums and Alzheimers (2017). Active member in the European Erasmus projects Social Inclusion and Well-being through the Arts and Interdisciplinary Practices (SWAIP) (2018-2020) and Inclusive memory. Inclusive Museums for well-being and health through the creation of a new shared memory (2021-2024).

Halldóra‘s intervention introduces elements how arts and culture stimulate people‘s mind who suffer Alzheimer‘s and increase their quality of life. The workshop Emotions in Silence with Bill Viola is explained in this context.
